A piece of Clones history has hit the open market.
This historic Church of Ireland schoolhouse served the local community of Clones for many years. The school closed 17 years ago and has stood empty ever since.
The substantial renovation project which requires a complete refurbishment has a price tag of €150,000.
Fortview School was designed by architect Thomas Elliott from nearby County Fermanagh who was noted for his work on religious and community buildings across Ulster.
The former schoolhouse was originally constructed in 1901, of craggy limestone with an austere façade, featuring architectural elements such as a tower and gabled porch, giving it a presence more akin to a place of worship than a conventional schoolhouse. This spacious property is 150m2 in size and sits on just over .6 of an acre of land.
