Two key active travel projects were rolled out this week in the Ballybay-Clones Municipal District. The two schemes, Clones Peace Link and Tirnahinch footpath provides improved accessibility for sustainable travel and improved safety for all road users. As Cathaoirleach of the Ballybay-Clones MD, Cllr Richard Truell said he was delighted to have the opportunity to open two key Active Travel projects in Clones Town.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Truell believes the Tirnahinch footpath which extends out to the border, will also help bring people from outside the town of Clones back into the community centre: According to Cllr Truell, a total of €323,000 was allocated for that footpath, and it will provide an easy and accessible way for people to build physical activity into their daily lives:
