ALDI Ireland has confirmed it will open its 165th store this month in Co Monaghan.
This new €14 million store in Monaghan Town is ALDI's second store in Monaghan and will create 30 new permanent jobs when it opens on Thursday, 16 October.
The store opens as ALDI prepares to serve its one billionth customer since arriving in Ireland in 1999. ALDI expects to hit the milestone in mid-October, reflecting ALDI's long-term commitment to Ireland and its promise to bring great value, quality and produce to the communities it operates in across the country.
Last year, ALDI Ireland celebrated 25 years in Ireland and has grown from an initial two stores in 1999 to now celebrating its 165th store and serving its one billionth Irish shopper this year. The retailer employs over 4,800 people nationwide, with the new Monaghan Store creating an additional 30 jobs in the community. ALDI also works with a network of over 330 suppliers across Ireland, spending over €1 billion with them annually.
Colin Breslin, Managing Director of Operations at ALDI Ireland, said: "As a Monaghan and three-mile house native, I am proud to welcome ALDI's 165th store to my home county. This is a significant moment for ALDI in Ireland and a testament to the incredible trust Irish shoppers have placed in us. Our brand-new store in Monaghan represents a major local investment and reinforces our commitment to value and quality. We are deeply grateful for the support of the local community and look forward to welcoming customers to our brand-new Monaghan store over the coming days and weeks."
