Almost €1 million has been allocated for 35 climate action projects across the Northern Sound region.
The Minister for Climate, Energy and Enviornment Darragh O'Brien made the announcement this week.
Funding will be provided to 15 projects in Co. Cavan, amounting to €489,000.
Meanwhile, 20 projects amounting to €437,892.90 have been funded in Co. Monaghan.
In total, €927,000 has been allocated across the region.
Local TD, Brendan Smith welcomed the news.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said that the projects have a wide range of benefits for communities.
Deputy Smith said: "By and large, it provides assistance to clubs to upgrade facilities.
"Many of the projects being funded are on the basis of reducing energy costs, lowering emissions. A number of the successful applications, their applications were heavily commited to the provision of solar panels, lighting upgrades, and others are based on water conservation," the Fianna Fáil TD explained.
