An appeal has been issued over criminal damage caused to the People's Park in Mullagh.
In a post on Facebook on the Mullagh Fair Day page, locals are being called on to give their assistance in bringing the culprits to justice.
In a video circulating online, a number of people can be seeing pouring flammable liquid on to two composite seating benches.
These benches were installed by volunteers following fundraising through Mullagh Fair Day and with funding assistance from Cavan County Council.
It will now cost €600 per bench to replace them.
The post online said it was absolutely sickening to think that anyone would engage in such an attack on each and every person living and supporting the Mullagh community, adding it's an attack on all the community.
