Gardai are appealing for information following a spate of recent burglaries and car thefts in Monaghan.
The first incident they are investigating is a break-in that took place on the night of Monday June 2nd. Shortly after 2am a home in the Maple Grove area of Smithboro was broken into, items from the house were stolen, as well as two cars.
A blue Audi A3 car and a black BMW 520 were stolen from outside the property.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to make it known to Monaghan Garda Station. In a separate burglary another vehicle was stolen between 11.30pm on the night of Wednesday the 11th of June and 7.15am on the morning of Thursday the 12th.
In the course of this robbery, a home in Tullynageer Castleblanyney was forcibly entered and a blue Hyundai Tucson car was stolen. Gardai in Castleblayney are asking for anyone who may have noticed something suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
There was a third burglary at a home in Threemilehouse, on Saturday the 14th of June between 9am and 8pm.
Again the home was forcibly entered and Gardai in Monaghan are looking for information. A van was stolen in a separate robbery in Carickmacross, Garda Tracy Donnaghy has the details.
Meanwhile, in Emyvale, a large amount of copper wire was stolen between Monday the 23rd of June and Wednesday the 25th of June. Again, Gardai in Monaghan would like to hear from anyone with information.
