The average price of good quality non-residential land in Co. Cavan, less than 50 acres, was €10,000 in 2025.
That's according to the SCSI/Teagasc Agricultural Land Market Review & Outlook 2026.
The report provides an objective assessment of how Ireland's agricultural land market is evolving, and the pressures and opportunities shaping it.
In Co. Cavan, the average price of poor quality non-residential land, less than 50 acres, was €7,125.
The border counties, including Cavan, have an area share of 15.4%.
For land between 50 and 100 acres, poor quality land cost an average of €8,675 in Co. Cavan.
This rose to €10,500 for good quality land.
Good quality land over 100 acres also cost €10,00 on average in Cavan.
Meanwhile, poor quality land over 100 acres was also €8,675 on average.
Teagasc found that agricultural performance was strong overall, particularly in the dairy and cattle sectors.
Cattle enterprises recorded exceptional performance; finished cattle prices rose sharply, and weanling prices increased significantly.
Dairy farm profitability improved, supported by higher milk prices and increased milk production, despite only modest increases in production costs.
