Average rents across Cavan and Monaghan have continued to rise.
According to the latest Daft.ie report, rents in Monaghan increased by 5.6% in the first three months of this year.
The average rent now stands at €1,340. While in Cavan rents are up 4.1%, with an average price of €1,409. Market rents in the three Ulster counties rose by 4% year-on-year, down from 17.6% a year ago.
The on-going increase in rents reflects very tight availability, with just over 50 homes available to rent on May 1st, down 25% year-on-year and only one quarter of the late 2010s average.
In Monaghan, market rents were on average 5.6% higher in the first quarter of 2025 than a year previously. The average listed rent is now €1340, up 71% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred.
In Cavan, market rents were on average 4.1% higher in the first quarter of 2025 than a year previously. The average listed rent is now €1409, up 87% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred.
