A Ballinamore family are still without power 2 months after Storm Eowyn hit the region.
Simon Power, who is the owner of Drumcoura City near Ballinamore says the Storm caused severe damage to his business and home. Whilst the damage was being repaired, the ESB switched the power to his home off, but he was then informed that in order for it to be switched back on, the home would need to be re-certified. To date, he has spent almost 5000 euro on re-certification work, and clearance work also cost in the region of 19,000 euro, however he is still waiting on ESB crews to attend the house to switch the power back on. He is still without a phone line and is running off a petrol generator.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Simon says it's very difficult on his young children, and he's hoping that action will be taken soon.
