A break-in to a local community led cafe has been strongly condemned.
Gardai are investigating a break which occurred on Saturday night in Carrickroe.
The community led Coffee Doc, The Village Brew was broken into after 1am. Carrickroe Community Development confirmed that Gardai have examined the CCTV footage from the local coffee shop.
The local group are calling on anyone and if they noticed anything suspicious between 1am and 1:30am on Saturday night last to contact Monaghan Gardai on 047 77200.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Rosemary Coyle from Carrickroe Community Development says the place is more than a café, it's where neighbours meet, conversations happen, and the community connects.
They have asked the local community to please stay vigilant and look out for any suspicious activity. Rosemary says the incident has been traumatising for the staff and the whole community of Carrickroe.
