Calls made for 'jobseeker safeguards' for Tara Mines workers

Workers at Tara Mines have been given no date for when the site will reopen.

Boliden, the owner of the County Meath mine, shut down production and temporarily laid off 650 workers in June.

SIPTU is calling for jobseeker's safeguards for the workers and has written to Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys to prevent any reduction in welfare payments.
