The public is being urged to be vigilant over the coming days as the current good weather is set to bring an elevated risk of gorse, forestry and other outdoor fires.
It comes after a gorse fire broke out in the Cuilcagh Mountain area last night.
Units from the Cavan County Fire Service attended a forestry fire covering around eight acres of land on the outskirts of Dowra in the northwest of the county overnight. The fire was in proximity to a number of homes but firefighters managed to keep all properties safe.
Elsewhere, Ballyconnell fire service also attended a gorse fire in the vicinity of Corraclassy ESB Substation, near Glangevlin in West Cavan, last night. Firefighters managed to protect the substation from sustaining any damage.
