A local fitness coach is encouraging the people of the region to get moving and active as we enter the summer season.
Colm McEneaney from the Carrick Fitness Centre says the importance of getting active can't be underestimated.
Colm says everyone has their own goals when it comes to physical fitness. He says the benefits are immense, adding that he has seen people's outlook on life change for the better when they become active through regular training. The local personal trainer says being physically active is a lifestyle change. Being fit reduces the risk of chronic diseases including heart disease, stroke and cancer, build your muscle tone and strength and reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and depression
Colm says the benefits are multi-faceted including encouraging and fostering a sense of wellbeing. "Everybody’s goals are different. Everybody's ideas are different, some people might want to get that little bit fitter, some people might want to lose a little bit of weight, somebody might want to get stronger and fitter.
