The Department of Children and Integration have confirmed that they will "not" be progressing proposals to acquire accommodation in Castlesaunderson. The decision was confirmed to Fianna Fail TD for Cavan-Monaghan, Deputy Brendan Smith.
The response follows concerns voiced by a local community group over the lack of "communication" and "consultation" by Government over the matter. Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Smith said the response was issued following queries he made to the department on behalf of local residents. He added that the Government will not be progressing previous proposals any further.
