A Cavan councillor has called for a review into the Long Term Illness Scheme.
The LTI scheme is entitles people with certain illnesses to some drugs, medicines, and treatments for the condition for free.
Shane P O'Reilly is making the point that there are a number of other illnesses not covered by this scheme that possibly should be.
This is an issue that he has raised before, as the last review into the scheme was in 1985.
Cllr. O'Reilly, himself, suffers from psoriasis, leading to psoriatic arthritis, so he understands the cost of living with a condition can have on people.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Independent Ireland councillor spoke about the of pressure it can put on the home.
