A Cavan woman has spoken about the support they received from the Ronald McDonald House beside Children's Hospital Crumlin while her daughter was seriously ill.
Lisa Gaffney spoke about her daughter Tilly, who was born with Pierre Robin Sequence and spent months in the hospital and a received a number significant, life-saving procedures.
Tilly's parents, who live in Cavan, stayed at the Ronald McDonald House, as they needed to be close to Tilly, they have spent 227 nights to date at the facility.
The service allows them to stay close to her without worrying about travel or accommodation costs.
Tilly's parents are taking part in a campaign to highlight the importance work done buy the Ronald McDonald House, they have joined Pixie Lott and other families to record a song "79 Miles" to showcase the struggle families face when having to regularly travel for treatment
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Lisa explained the importance of the Ronald McDonald house and the role it has played in their lives.
