Shane P. O'Reilly, the Independent councillor from Cavan said the Government and Revenue Commissioners need to look into the rates of pay and tax that ESB crews will earn for the overtime worked following Éowyn.
The Cavan County Councillor made the call during a panel discussion on the Joe Finnegan Show today. The Mullagh man said when he drove into the Shannonside studios he was following behind five lorries of "exhausted" ESB crew going to a café.
And Cllr O'Reilly said although his constituency had a "rough time of it" for at least the first 10 days after the storm a fortnight ago, he had to thank ESB and Uisce Éireann (listen below):
