A Cavan senator says the number of hotel beds being used outside of the Tourism industry must be reduced.
According to the CSO, the number of international tourists visiting Ireland dropped by 30% in the first 2 months of the year. A Eurostat survey also shows Ireland is the 2nd most expensive country in the EU in terms of prices, 42% above the EU average. She also says too many hotel beds are being used outside of tourism and this must be tackled.
