A Cavan senator recently raised the issue of school bus driver's retirement age in the Seanad.
Pauline Tully was speaking as a bus operator in Cavan is set to lose three drivers this year for school runs.
This is due to the Bus Eireann rule that someone cannot drive a bus once they reach 70 years of age.
Senator Tully noted that the Government announced last year it plans to significantly expand the school transport system between now and 2030.
She called on the Minister for Transport to address the issue immediately.
Speaking to in the Seanad, Senator Tully outlined the situation.
