A Cavan Senator has once again raised the issue of "substandard" road surfaces in Cavan and Monaghan.
Sarah O'Reilly spoke recently in the Seanad following the announcement of road funding for Cavan and Monaghan.
The Aontú Senator said that the funding was much anticipated.
She said councillors came from Cavan to meet with Ministers expecting and advocating for more money but the announcement was "more of the same".
She noted that the roads in her municipal district there are no national or secondary routes and that it is solely reliant on regional and local funding.
Senator O'Reilly said that the issue is being raised time and time again, and the roads in the region are getting worse and worse.
Speaking in the Seanad she said it's simply not good enough.
