A talented County Cavan teenager has won the 'Best Director' award at this year's Young Filmmaker of the Year event.
Alanna Corcoran Cusack from Shercock took home the award for her short film 'Reprisal' at the national awards that were broadcasted on RTÉ TV last week.
Alanna used her speech at the prestigious awards to thank her family, friends, actors and her the staff at Colaiste Dún an Rí.

She has been speaking to Northern Sound about her win and her plans for further films and how she would like to make a career for herself in the directors chair.
The 15-year-old's achievement is all the more remarkable as this was her first film. Alanna has been outlining to Northern Sound what her award winning filmed was based on.
