Cavan County Council's new Chief Fire Officer is highlighting the fact that it is a retained service.
Sinead Sweeney has recently taken up the role with Cavan County Council and is bringing a wealth of experience to the role.
The Tipperary native, who has moved up from the Waterford Fire Service, having served in a number of local authorities and roles in her 24 year career.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Sinead spoke about the importance of having people of all different backgrounds in the service.
