It's only a matter of time an accident will occur on Lough Sheelin.
That's the view of Cllr Trevor Smith who says up to 100 power boats can be on the lake at peak season.
He said this was of huge concern and a real worry for so many.
Cllr Smith said the concerns and dangers centre around the need for an amendment to current bye laws.
He said changes are needed surrounding a cap on engine size using local lakes like Lough Sheelin and members of Inland Fisheries Ireland can implement the bye laws.
