Clones man shares mission to put amputees on 'world stage'

Shane McLoughlin holds five Guinness world records for truck pulling.

A local man is on a mission to introduce tug a war for amputees into the Paralympics.

Clones native Shane McLaughlin is currently putting a team together to represent Ireland and to initiate the sport for amputees on a world stage.

He believes it's much more that just entering a sport, it's a way of highlighting that even as an amputee you can still do everything that an abled bodied person can do.

The Co Monaghan man says this sport would bring other amputees together with a shared vision of representing other people like them and their country.

It's not the first time Shane has achieved historic breaking feats, he holds five Guinness world records for truck pulling and he hopes he can carry on breaking down barriers and creating history.

Shane says it would be a dream come true to enter the Paralympics in 2032:
