A group of volunteers in Clones have set up a group to close the main street to allow for funerals to pass through.
The Clones Funeral Stewards Group was established in 2022.
Traditionally, funerals go down Fermanagh St. in Clones.
Following the closure of a full-time manned Garda Station in the town, a funeral travelling down Fermanagh St. was met with oncoming traffic.
As a result, local woman Eileen McManus set up the group.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Eileen explained that the group works with local undertakers and a number of volunteers to close the street during funerals.
Eileen said: "From talking to local families who have been bereaved, they are very grateful for the group.
"It is one less worry, and there is something about Fermanagh Street. everybody its like their dying wish to go down it. It has been done traditionally for many years, as long as I can remember anyway.
"It also frees up the undertaker as well. We work very well with the local undertakers, its all done by Whatsapp group," she explained.
