Close to 900 residential buildings were under construction across the region as of June.
That's according to the GeoDirectory Residential Buildings Report for Quarter 2 of this year.
According to the findings, there were 470 homes being built in Co. Cavan, and 427 in Co. Monaghan.
The report revealed the vacancy rates across the two counties were above the national average of 3-point-7 per cent.
