Cavan and Monaghan ETB and member schools have taken home four national awards from this year's ETB's Excellence Awards. This region's board won the top prize in two categories in 2025 for community and respect with two local projects.
The groundbreaking Music Generation project called "A Deep Ravine: Reflections on a Divided Ireland" won first place in the Community category and an anti-racism project by Largy College students won first place in the Excellence Award for Respect 2025.
The Excellence Awards were the flagship event for ETB Week which showcases Ireland's 16 ETBs and the services they provide to learners of all ages. CMETB Further and Education Training won second place for their Employer Portal Project at this year's awards while Coláiste Oiriall were awarded Highly Commended for excellence in Irish-medium education.
Music Generation's "A Deep Ravine: Reflections on a Divided Ireland" connected young people across cultural and political divides by blending traditional and classical music and picked up the community award. Students from Largy College developed an educational toolkit to promote the rights and dignity of refugee and asylum seekers called "We are all Human".
