A Co Cavan young farmer is encouraging other likeminded farmers to join a local Macra group.
27 year old Niall Clerkin is an active member of Maudabawn Macra.
He highlighted that the job of a farmer is one that can be isolating and can be a barrier to meet with others.

The local man says his own club has been going from strength to strength.
Niall says the opportunity of social gatherings and competitions that being involved through the group is great.
He says he would encourage all young farmers to sign up to their local club.
