The overall electorate in Co. Monaghan dropped by 1,303 people between 2024 and November 2025.
That's according to figures released by Monaghan County Council.
In June of last year, the council undertook a "data cleanse" of the Register of Electors.
This involved sending letters to nearly 7,000 electors missing a date of birth or Eircode.
The council indicated that over the following months, approximately 40% responded, updating their records and leaving just over 4,000 electors without key details.
According to Monaghan County Council, a second round of letters will be issued in early January 2026 to electors missing a date of birth and an Eircode.
