Cllr Pauric Clerkin has welcomed significant progress on long-awaited footpath improvements in Tydavnet.
An agreement was successfully reached with a local property owner to facilitate the widening of a narrow and heavily utilised section of footpath in the centre of the village.
This agreement has enabled Monaghan County Council to proceed with essential safety upgrades that will greatly enhance pedestrian access and overall road safety for residents, schoolchildren, and visitors.
A contractor is now on site, and construction works are actively underway.
The project is progressing on schedule, with completion expected by the end of November 2025.
Cllr Clerkin says this is an "important step forward for Tydavnet."
