A crash barrier is to be installed at the Kilmore Training Grounds in Monaghan.
Monaghan County Council has secured funding to carry out the works at the football field between Scotstown and Ballinode villages.
The announcement has been welcomed by Senator Robbie Gallagher and Councillor Raymond Aughey.
