The number of drivers caught speeding so far this bank holiday weekend has risen to over 2 and-a-half thousand.
They include a motorist travelling at 137 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre zone on the N4 in Lucan in Dublin, and another doing 112 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone in Dernaglug in Monaghan.
93 people have been arrested for drink or drug-driving, as part of the Garda special roads policing operation for St. Patrick's Day.
