158kmph in a 100kmph speed limit. That’s the speed that members of the Monaghan Roads Policing Unit detected from a motorist travelling on the N2 early yesterday morning. The driver was arrested and then on arrest tested positive for cocaine.
He was charged to appear in Court. On the run up to the Festive Season local Gardaí are appealing to drivers to slow down and not to drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They are calling on motorists to think road safety at all times over this busy period on our roads.
