Driving test waiting list still too long - Monaghan Senator

Learner drivers are still waiting far too long to sit their driving test.

That's according to Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher.

The RSA's estimator tool says that a learner joining the waiting list for a test in Monaghan today would have to wait until the 2nd week of October.

For Cavan, it's the week commencing September 15th for the same criteria.

Speaking in the Seanad, Senator Robbie Gallagher says that while progress has been made in the recent months, the wait is still too long.

He says it's especially damaging for those from rural areas who rely on their car.
