Up on 25,000 people took to the streets of Dublin earlier today to protest in relation to the Irish language.
People came from all over including Cavan and Monaghan to highlight and call for more supports and funding for our native language.
According to organisers, the protest was a 'direct result of failure by both northern and southern governments to adequately resolve long standing crises regarding language rights, Gaeltacht housing, education and funding.
The rally began in Parnell Square at 1.30pm before making its way through Dublin City Centre and on to Leinster House.
In attendance, local members of Conradh na Gaeilge branches in Cavan and Monaghan demanded Cearta Teanga, Cothram na Féinne and proper funding for the Irish language and Gaeltacht regions.
