€1.23 million has been announced for community facilities across the Northern Sound region.
Nine projects in Co. Cavan will receive grant aid of €652,359.
Meanwhile, nine projects in Co. Monaghan will receive grant aid of €580,659.
Projects include upgrading of football pitches, playgrounds, and walkways.
Minister Niamh Smyth welcomed the news.
Minister Smyth said: "This is fantastic news for Cavan-Monaghan and I'm absolutely delighted to see over €1.23 million being invested in 18 community projects right across both counties. This funding will make a real and lasting difference to families, sports clubs and community groups in every corner of the constituency.
"From playground upgrades in Bailieborough, Ballyconnell, Glaslough and Killeevan that will benefit young families, to vital facilities for our GAA clubs and soccer clubs in Kingscourt, Ballinagh, Templeport, Clones, Castleblaney, Latton and beyond, to the wonderful sensory trail at Cavan Burren Park – these projects represent the heartbeat of our communities.
"The CLÁR programme has proven invaluable in delivering infrastructure that brings people together and enhances quality of life in rural areas. I want to congratulate all the community groups, sports clubs and volunteers who worked so hard on their applications. This investment demonstrates the Government's continued commitment to supporting rural communities and ensuring that Cavan-Monaghan continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family," she added.
Fianna Fáil TD, Brendan Smith, also welcomed the news.
He said that the grant aid will assist in the enhancement of existing community facilities and the provision of new amenities benefiting people of all ages, in both counties.
Deputy Smith said: “Good amenities are beneficial for local residents, and also our visitors to our constituency.”
