Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has today announced funding of over €641,000 for repairs and improvement works on rural roads and laneways in Cavan and Monaghan.
The funding, under the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS), will support the continued improvement of non-public roads and lanes that are not normally maintained by the local authorities.
County Cavan will receive a funding grant of €336,913, while County Monaghan will receive an allocation grant of €304,736. Making the announcement today, Minister Humphreys said she was "delighted" to announce over €641,000 in funding to improve roads and laneways in towns and villages across Cavan and Monaghan. She also encouraged each local authority to use the funding announced today and complete the repair works on the selected roads "as soon as possible."
