As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí seized €150,000 of cannabis and arrested two men following the search of premises in Co Monaghan and Co Louth, on the evening of Monday, October 23rd.
Castleblayney Gardaí, assisted by members of the Armed Support Unit, carried out a search of a premises at Castleblayney, on Monday evening. Suspected cannabis with an estimated value of €70,000 was seized. A follow up search was conducted at a premises in Dromiskin, Co Louth, where suspected cannabis with an approximate value of €80,000 was seized.
All of the suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis. Two men (aged in their 40’s and 50’s) were arrested and detained at Garda stations in the Monaghan area under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977. Both have been charged to appear before Monaghan District Court this morning, Wednesday 25th of October at 10.30am.
Investigations are ongoing at this time.
