A Co Cavan councillor has shared his concerns in relation to litter across Co Cavan.
Cllr Damien Brady believes early intervention and education is key when it comes to preventing people from dropping litter.
The local representative believes introducing an "award system" in schools could stop people from engaging in such behaviour in the future.
Cllr Brady said he his aware that teacher have a hard enough job as it is with loaded timetables, however he thinks focusing on this topic now would be of benefit to society in the future.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Brady believes it's "more important" to find solutions as opposed to talking about the problem.
