A Monaghan man has organised a signing of a book chronicling one of the darkest chapters of the troubles in Northern Ireland.
The Killing of the Reavey Brothers is co-authored by Eugene Reavey and journalist Ken Murray.
Published to mark the 50th anniversary, the book remembers the night of January 4, 1976, when Eugene's three brothers, John Martin (24), Brian (22), and Anthony (17), were gunned down in their South Armagh home.
Paddy McGinn now resides in Carrickmacross but was raised beside the Reavey family, has organised a book signing of this publication which will take place on Monday the 14th of July at 7pm in the Riverbank Restaurant.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Paddy explains why he undertook the signing.
"He asked me a couple of years ago to do a book signing. I've spent most of my life, adult life, in County Monaghan and Carrickmacross. So that was the place that I would have felt more comfortable, believe it or not, even though I'm from, where Eugene, both our families are very close to each other. But I picked the Riverbank, I found it a cosy atmosphere. So it's going to be on the Riverbank this Monday, coming on the 14th of July at 7pm. And I think it's a really good occasion for the likes of people from South Ireland to meet people from the North East of the Republic and tell their stories."
