Free travel will now be available to people medically unfit to drive.
The scheme is being extended from July 29th by local Minister Heather Humphreys, and will allow those eligible to access all public transport provided by the State for free.
The measure is expected to benefit 32-thousand people this year. Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys says this gives people back some independence:
