A fire that broke out at the former Bent Elbow public house over the weekend is being treated by Gardai as suspicious
Gardai say they are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire to a vehicle and an adjacent premises at Knocknagilla in Ballyjamesduff.
The fire broke out at approximately 4am on Sunday morning the 7th of September.
Extensive damage was caused to the commercial premises with fire crews from Ballyjamesduff and Cavan Town attending the scene along the N3 for a number of hours.
A vehicle that was on fire spread to the building causing significant damage. The aerial hydraulic platform was deployed to extinguish the fire in the roof space of the building with the fire being brought under control in a number of hours. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Cavan Garda Station.
