Local fire crews continue to deal with a gorse fire in Ballyconnell today. Fire crews from Ballyconnell and the surrounding areas are currently tackling the blaze in Ballyconnell whilst working in challenging conditions. This incident follows on from a large scale forest fire which broke out in West Cavan yesterday afternoon and was brought under control late last night. Firefighters tackled what was described as a major fire for several hours.
