The first affordable housing scheme in Co Monaghan will be launched in the coming weeks. This first development will comprise of 10 homes in Monaghan Town with a mix of two and three-bedroom properties available.
The Affordable Purchase Scheme sees Monaghan County Council make new, local homes available for purchase to first time buyers and Fresh Start applicants at reduced prices, whose combined mortgage and deposit will not cover the market price of the newly built home.
In return, Monaghan County Council takes a percentage equity stake in the Affordable Home, equal to the discount of the purchase price from the full market value of the home. Anyone who wishes to register their interest can do so by emailing [email protected].
