Judgements to conclude this evening
The Special Criminal Court has found an unnamed man guilty of the false imprisonment and assault causing serious harm to Kevin Lunney.
The verdict in the case of the four men charged with false imprisonment and causing serious harm to the QIH Director is being delivered in the Central Criminal Court today.
The 40 year old known as YZ for legal reasons was found quilty this afternoon.
He has been charged along with 68 year old Luke O'Reilly Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co Cavan; 27 year old Darren Redmond, Caledon Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 and 40 year old Alan O'Brien Shelmalier Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 all of whom have pleaded not guilty to the charges against the QIH Director at Drumbrade, Ballinagh, Co Cavan on September 17, 2019.
Mr Justice Tony Hunt said the man's connection to a number vehicles used during the incident was part of the reason for the decision.
He said he was heavily involved before, during and after the incident, and that the evidence points unequivocally to YZ being involve
The verdict in the cases of the three other men is due shortly.
