The funeral mass of the late Fr Anthony Fagan took place this afternoon in St Anne's Church in Bailieboro.
Fr Anthony who was born in Bailieboro, Co Cavan on the 22nd of July 1950 passed away on Tuesday at Cavan General Hospital.
Fr Anthony received his early education in Bailieboro Boys’ National School and Ballinamoney National School before attending St Patrick’s College, Cavan, and later St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, where he studied for the priesthood.
Fr Anthony was also a Board member of Shannonside Northern Sound.
CEO Fiona Stack paid tribute to the commitment he had shown to the stations and to staff.
She said his vision, support and kindness had been central to the development of Shannonside and Northern Sound.
Bishop of Kilmore Martin Hayes said Fr Anthony's priestly ministry was marked by a deep gentleness, humility, and genuine care for people.
Parishioners will remember him as deeply committed to the spiritual and pastoral life of his people.
Bishop Hayes said Fr Anthony "generated a great legacy for himself" and described him as a "much-loved priest of the diocese whose gentle manner, kindness, and faithful pastoral service touched countless lives."
