A Co Monaghan councillor has welcomed a funding allocation for works to be carried out on the Bog Road.
Funding has been targeted for a 1,100 metre section of road from Scotstown village out the Bog Road.
Cllr Pauric Clerkin says this funding has been made possible by continued lobbying by residents and himself over the last 12 months.
With works expected to begin in the next few months, Cllr Clerkin says residents are "delighted" after the allocation was confirmed at the most recent sitting of Monaghan MD.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Clerkin hopes that more money will be allocated similar to this next year so that works can be completed out to Sweeney's Cross.
