The funeral will take place this morning of the Monaghan man who perished in a fire at his home at the start of the month.
Liam Doran was in his 70s.
On April 1st a fire broke out at his apartment in Rowantree Court, Mulach Glas, Monaghan Town and despite efforts by fire crews from Monaghan Town and Ballybay as well as paramedics, Mr Doran was pronounced dead at the scene.
On the evening tragedy struck, his body was removed for post mortem. Mr Doran's funeral mass takes place in Saint Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan Town this morning at 11 o'clock followed by a cremation ceremony in Cavan.
