A new Superintendent has been appointed to Carrickmacross.
Superintendent Gavin Scott is on transfer to Carrickmacross Garda Station with responsibility for the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan Performance Assurance Functional Area at the Garda Division.
The local Superintendent is one of An Garda Síochána’s 25 superintendent appointments that have been announced.
The Garda Operating Model was introduced as part of A Policing Service for the Future, which is the implementation plan based on the report of the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland.
Gardai say the restructure reflects international best practice as well as the realities of modern day policing in Ireland.
The model enhances the investigation of crime through the delivery of a greater range of specialised services in local areas, such as the investigation of sexual crime, domestic violence, cyber-crime, and economic crime.
