As part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Cavan Drugs Unit and the Revenue Customs Service, 6.25kg of herbal cannabis was seized today in Co Cavan.
A man aged in his 30s, was arrested and is being detained in a station in the Garda North Western Region under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The seized drugs, with an estimated street value of €125,000, will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
